Available in mild and stainless steel, Image Collar Studs range from 1⁄4 inch to 1⁄2 inch thread. Metric sizes are also available. In addition to standard sizes, which include a variety of base length and thread length combinations, Image offers custom-made Collar Studs to meet specific application requirements as well as extremely long studs, which can only be produced with specialized equipment.

Image’s Collar Studs feature a flange in the middle of the fastener which can be used to offset one sheet of metal above another. The studs deliver a durable, one-sided weld that prevents leakage or corrosion while typically providing greater structural strength than the base metal. They can be used for many different applications in tough environments such as electrical enclosures where they keep inner panels from touching the delicate wires along the back of the enclosure. Collar Studs are especially beneficial in industrial ovens, because they can be welded to the outside of the heating chamber to space off the enclosure creating an air gap. The studs can also be used in place of tapped bosses and shouldered bosses at considerable cost savings.
